St Martins Church & Hereford Rowing Club Wedding Photography

I recently enjoyed photographing Shannon and Mike on their beautiful wedding day in Herefordshire. The ceremony was held at the beautiful St Martins Church, with the reception following at Hereford Rowing Club. My day started with Shannon, her excited bridesmaids and her mum at her parents’ house. Shannon was so calm as they got ready for the day – one of the calmest brides I think I had seen! It was a nice, relaxed start to an eventful day of celebrations.
The church was really stunning – a beautiful backdrop for their wedding photos. The sun lit up the bright stained glass windows as the couple made their vows in front of happy friends and family.
After the ceremony, we did a handful of group shots with close family. The sun was kind to us that day and created wonderful lighting for those natural shots. The flowers were bursting with beautiful bright colours as were many of the guest’s outfits, adding so much vibrancy to these shots.
Everyone then headed over to the rowing club. The rowing club has a lot of meaning to the couple, this club has been an important part of Shannon’s life growing up. their love of rowing was carried through to the décor – all of the table names were named after rivers. I even had my own place setting on one of the tables with my personalised stone and wedding favour (a little bulb to plant in my garden) which I have kept and will plant soon. A real treat and such a lovely idea!
I then nipped outside again with the couple as the afternoon started to draw to a close. We caught some lovely couple shots in this new light, adding a different mood to the photographs.
As the sun went down, the evening guests arrived for a fun night of dancing, celebrating and a tasty pork roast. The dancing was some of the funniest I have ever encountered, with everyone getting involved and making it a night to remember.
There was so much laughter, bemusement, and confused faces. It was hilarious and such great fun to be part of.
